亦称“并句法”，将二三个句子合译为一个句子，以使译文简洁流畅、语气贯通、逻辑严密、概念明确。例如：The four men huddled there and said nothing.They dared not smoke.They would not move.这四个人聚在那儿不说话，不敢抽烟，也不愿走开。原文三句，主语相同，汉语用流水句一气呵成。又如：搞科技，越高越好，越新越好。越高越新，我们也就越高兴。不只我们高兴，人民高兴，国家高兴。（《邓小平文选》）We should develop science and technology，and the higher and newer the technologies are，the better and the more delighted we shall be-and not just we，but the entire people and the state.原文三局，语义上密切联系，汉语用词汇重复加以衔接和强调。英译一句到底，如照译三句，就会显得松散。
